Plastics for Environmental Technology by KC and CTC

Experts discussed high-tech requirements for flue gas purification, and in addition, process examples from engineering to assembly were presented.

On April 4th, 2017, the symposium - Plastics for Environmental Technology /exhaust air and flue gas purification in focus – took place at AGRU Headquarter in Bad Hall in cooperation with CleanTech- and Kunststoff-Cluster.

Experts discussed high-tech requirements for flue gas purification, and in addition, process examples from engineering to assembly were presented. The fields of application and limits for plastics in container and plant construction concluded the presentations.

A lively exchange developed among the specialists at the beginning of the event in the entrance area to the lecture room. Afterwards, the knowledge was intensified and the professionals presented some practical process examples. Further topics were innovative system solutions and their process technology as well as new applications for plastics in environmental technology.

As a special highlight, the attendees were able to take a guided plant tour at AGRU. The in-house gas scrubber made of PP plates was also inspected, since the neutralization of industrial exhaust gases is a complex matter. For example, the polluted exhaust air produced during the production of certain chemicals must often be cleaned in a "scrubber" before it can be released to the environment.
