Tinning line (electrolytic process)

In the field of the food industry surface treated tin is used for the production of tin cans. For surface treatment, the tin plate is immersed in a hot bath containing concentrated chromic acid and other chemicals. Due to the extreme aggressive chemical liquids, adequate corrosion protection is required for plant elements.

The rinse tank was built for the company Tosyalı Toyo Çelik A.Ş. (the leading flat steel and steel pipe manufacturer of the Turkish private sector).  The manufacturing started in June 2022.

The tank weight is 12 tons, the dimensions are 16.5 x 3.0 x 2.8 m (l x w x h). The tank was transported in one piece.

PP semi-finished products, pipes and fittings of AGRU have been specified for this project due to the special qualities (products with low residual stress produced in optimized manufacturing processes based on the choice of highest quality raw materials). AGRU products meet the chemical/thermal requirements (chromic acid is a very aggressive chemical) of this very demanding application.
