Hot-dip galvanizing is a process in which steel is coated by immersing it in molten zinc to provide corrosion protection. The latest plant of the family-owned company, founded in 1965, was built in Ontario and was equipped with state-of-the-art plant technology. Before the workpieces are coated with molten zinc at 450 degrees, they undergo a series of pre-treatment baths with hot acids and alkalis. To protect the concrete structure in the new plant, a total of fifteen in-situ concrete tanks in the pre-treatment plant were lined with 8 mm thick AGRU Sure-Grip PP-R concrete protective liners. This measure ensures effective protection against the aggressive and high-temperature production liquids.
Significant extension of service life
The use of AGRU-Sure Grip PP-R concrete protective liners significantly extends the service life of the concrete structures and increases the operational reliability of the entire plant. This means not only long-term cost savings, but also increased efficiency and reliability in production. The PP-R BSP tanks were installed on site using extrusion welding. With this project, AGRU has once again demonstrated that the products and solutions meet the highest requirements and make a significant contribution to improving industrial processes. AGRU's concrete protection systems are a decisive factor for the longevity and efficiency of modern production facilities.
